Auggie Accurso, a member of Turlock Rotary since 1974, died unexpectedly on Sunday morning, February 7th. Born in Queens Village, New York in 1930, he moved to California in 1940 and resided in Redwood City.

He later graduated from San Jose State College with a B.S. Degree and then the University of Utah with a Pharm. D. Degree. He and his wife Ceil then moved Turlock in 1957 to begin his career in pharmacy. He worked as a pharmacist in Turlock, Hilmar and Modesto until returning to the University of Utah to attend law school and complete a Juris Doctor degree.

He then worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Utah, a Deputy District Attorney for Stanislaus County and then entered private practice. He was later appointed to the bench as a judge where he remained until his retirement.

Auggie and Ceil, his wife of 58 years, had three children, six grandchildren and one great-grandson. They enjoyed spending vacations at their home in the San Juan Islands.

He was President of the Rotary Club of Turlock in 1994-95 and had many friends and associates in other clubs in our district. He was also active in a number of other fraternal and civic organizations. He will long be remembered for his generosity, friendliness and constant sense of humor.
